The Repatriation Review Committee has made funding available to support Native American tribal representatives wishing to come to the Repatriation Office at the Smithsonian Institution for the purpose of consulting about or repatriating culturally affiliated human remains, funerary objects, sacred objects, and objects of cultural patrimony. The grant may cover airfare, hotel accommodations, meal allowance, and local travel allowance for two tribal representatives. Applicants must be the acknowledged repatriation representatives of federally-recognized Native American tribes, Alaska Native communities, or Native Hawaiian organizations. All arrangements for the visit will be made by the Repatriation Office. Please refer to Planning a Consultation Visit on the Repatriation Office website for further information about the program.
