Notes: The basalt columns used to (partially) enclose the Ceremonial Court and used in other features at La Venta as well, are natural in origin and five- or six-sided, with one side usually wider than the others. The wider sides appeared to be smoothed down. Furthermore, in some of the features this wider side was turned inward, as if to give the impression of a flat-surfaced wall.
