Mr. Nume leads the team of excavators during the field season, and oversees use of the vehicles and set up of the camp. He and Rick have worked together for the past 15 years on various excavations. During the rest of the year he prepares the Olorgesailie fossils for research at the National Museums of Kenya and spends time with his family at their shamba (farm) in Machakos district east of Nairobi.
