This antelope horn is eroding out of the wall, but is still in its original position. It may mean that there is a paleontological site still preserved further in the outcrop. Of course, it may be a single horn with nothing else preserved. Until it gets started, one can never tell if an excavation like this will take a half hour, or three weeks. A standard three-inch wide paintbrush is used for scale.
