A fossil in the rough.

In the center of the photograph is a fossil, possibly a rib of a grazing animal. It was found by accident during a search for microfaunal samples. It was located on the erosional surface of the gully wall. Therefore the bone is not in place, but it is hoped that the source of the fossil is still in place, and can be excavated. Nearby, a stone tool was found.
